Trinzo donates €950 prize fund to Monivea Wildlife Audit

Monivea Wildlife Audit announces photo contest winners as key sponsor Trinzo, donates €950 prize fund

​

Ellen Powell has been announced as the winner of the 2022 Monivea Wildlife Audit photo contest. 


The photographers winning image, entitled ‘The patient frog warming itself in the mid-day sunlight', was chosen from more than 150 entries taken by 60 photographers around Monivea. 


Ellen will receive the first place prize of €500.

The competition, hosted by the Monivea Wildlife Audit, was launched to rekindle the relationship between the residents of Monivea and the free outdoor activities offered by the vast woodland and rivers.  


Second place prize of €300 was awarded to Martin Whyte, for his image entitled ‘The busy, but patient Spider readying its web to await passing insects.’ 


The final winner, Owen Nally, was chosen by the judges for his photo of ‘The watchful Robin Redbreast’ taking home a €150 prize. 


‘’Holding true to our remit of encourage, learn and teach, the three winners show the beauty to be found in even the smallest and lowliest of creatures among our vast woodland’’ said the judges. 


The €950 prize fund was donated by local medical device and pharmaceutical consultancy firm, Trinzo. ‘’It’s important that we, as a local community, commit to protecting and enjoying our local wildlife and Trinzo is delighted to support in anyway we can’’ explains Liam Turley, CEO of Trinzo.

Launching their Facebook page 2012, the Monivea Wildlife Audit is dedicated to conserving the lands and waters on which local wildlife depends through school talks, awareness campaigns and their ongoing nest box installation work for barn owls, red squirrel and bats alike.
